Father O’Malley is optimistic that his picks will be dead on accurate; at least he hopes so… considering he put his parish up as collateral with one of the sports books in Vegas! Father O says: The bowl so crappy they couldn’t get a corporate sponsor. Well at least there is nothing like starting the bowl season with two legendary powerhouses like Fresno State and Wyoming! Honestly does anybody care about this game? It’s in the middle of the freaking desert… what the hell does the winning team get, a bag of sand? Fresno State wins, 21-13.

Father O says: I don’t know if these bowl committees think it’s cute for football games to be played in baseball stadiums, or what but they could have picked a better location than St. Petersburg, FL. Father O says: Central Michigan is going to throw all over Troy. CMU wins 45-21.

Father O says: This is going to be one of the worst National Title games since Miami stomped Nebraska in 2002. This game isn’t going to be close and is going to be a total domination. Alabama will win their 13th National Title convincingly. Alabama wins 35-10.

This Saturday could quite possibly be one of the most exciting days in college football in a very long time. Between conference championships in the SEC, ACC and the Big XII, Cincinnati also has a pivotal game to prove that they deserve to be in the national title race. Never to fail, Father O’Malley has made his picks and is ready to share his football wisdom with you once again…

Week 14 Picks

Game 1

Cincinnati vs. Pittsburgh (12:00 PM Kickoff), Pittsburgh, PA

Father O says: Cincy is playing in the biggest game that they have ever played in before. They have the opportunity to finish the season 12-0 and make an argument for the national title game on January 7^th. But can Cincinnati handle the pressures that are surrounding the team right now? Coach Brian Kelly has been named as a possible candidate to replace the revolting blob Charlie Weis, and let’s face it, Cincinnati has a chance of making it to the national title game if they win on Saturday and Texas loses. Cincinnati won’t be able to handle the amount of pressure that Saturday’s game is going to have. Every year there is a Big East team, whether its West Virginia, Pittsburgh or Cincinnati this year, they can’t cut the mustard in the end. Cincinnati is going to blow it, and blow it big on Saturday. Pittsburgh wins 35-10.

Game 2

Arizona vs. USC (3:30 PM Kickoff), Los Angels, CA

Father O says: Arizona gets killed. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, they get slaughtered. USC wins 42-13.

Game 3

Florida vs. Alabama (4:00 PM Kickoff), Atlanta, GA

Father O says: The clash of the Titians. # 1 vs. #2, Good(Florida) vs. Evil(Alabama)… What else can you ask for in a SEC Championship game? The Florida Gators are playing for their ticket to their 3^rd national title appearance in 4 years, while Bama is trying to reach the championship game to win their 13^th national title. Not only does this game have implications on who will be playing in Pasadena on January 7^th, but it also has two Heisman Trophy candidates trying to prove that they deserve the little stiff arm guy in NYC next weekend. What else can we add to the importance of this game? What this game is going to boil down to is simple, clear coaching. Each team has great athletes that can do anything, hell we know each team has players that can get DUIs and get arrested for various other charges. Both teams have head coaches that have won national titles in the past, and are very good at what they do. The deciding factor is going to be the man-love, bro-mance between Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow. Love will make you do crazy things, and Tim Tebow will make sure he wins for daddy Meyer. Florida wins, 24-21.

Game 4

Texas vs. Nebraska (8:00 PM Kickoff), Dallas, TX

Father O says: If Texas loses on Saturday, it will be one of the largest upsets in history. So… let me tell you how it is going to happen. Ndamukong Suh is going to bring havoc on Colt McCoy. The nations top defensive lineman is going to single handedly beat the Texas offense. If Texas doesn’t double team Suh, he will punish and potentially take out Heisman hopeful McCoy, and if they do, they are freeing up another defender to make plays. Texas is going to lose Saturday. It may not be a blow out, but they will lose. Nebraska wins, 17-14.

Game 5

Georgia Tech vs. Clemson (8:00 PM Kickoff), Tampa, FL

Father O Says: Clemson proved last week that they are nothing special. I think the time has come for Georgia Tech to win their first ACC title since 1998. Georgia Tech wins 28-14.

I hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! Father O’Malley spent his Thanksgiving feeding the needy and discussing his picks for this week with them. Many of them didn’t understand what the hell he was talking about, or could really care less about football… but they really didn’t have a choice in the matter since Father O was threatening not to feed them unless they listened. Game 1

Ohio State vs. Michigan (12:00PM Kickoff), Ann Arbor, MI

Father O says: If Ohio State chokes and loses to Michigan for the first time since 2003, they don’t deserve the Rose Bowl, they deserve the Clorox Toilet Cleaner Bowl! Ohio State is going to Make Michigan their Bichigan! Sounds like a score shirt! Ohio State wins 30-10.

Game 2

Chattanooga vs. Alabama (12:20 PM Kickoff), Tuscaloosa, AL

Father O says: What the hell is Alabama doing playing Chattanooga this late in the season? Seriously, I expect this out of a Big Ten team, but Alabama? This must have been scheduled when Mike Shula was the head coach… Anyways, Alabama runs the train on well, the Trains. Alabama 42-13.

Game 3

FIU vs. Florida (12:30PM Kickoff), Gainesville, FL

Father O says: FIU, isn’t that some sort of sexually transmitted disease? What the hell is wrong with the SEC? Alabama is playing a bunch of trains and Florida is messing around with STDs? Seriously, what the hell is wrong with this world? Florida vaccinates and defeats the evil FIU. Florida 42-10.

Game 4

Cal vs. Stanford (7:30PM Kickoff), Stanford, CA

Father O says: THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD, THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD! Sorry, just a little flashback… Stanford is the hottest team in the nation right now! After making USC look like a high school team last week, this team is capable of anything. Cal is going to have a rough time… Stanford rolls on! Stanford 35-20.

Game 5

Kansas vs. Texas (8:00PM Kickoff), Austin, TX

Father O says: UPSET SPECIAL OF THE WEEK! Texas is going to lose to Kansas for one reason and one reason only. Mark Mangino started fasting for Thanksgiving 3 days ago. By the time kickoff rolls around Mangino hasn’t eaten in 124 hours and will eliminate anything in his path! Kansas upsets Texas. Kansas 13-10.

A Friend of the Clergy

This week Father Peter O’Malley is trying something different, something he hasn’t done in a long, long time. For the first time in nearly 35 years of picking college football games, Father O’Malley is doing so sober. He claims to have had an eye opening experience watching the Fighting Irish lose last weekend. He wanted to know if the pain he felt was true pain or just his boozy emotions getting the best of him. Father O may or may not be turning a page in his life, by making this HUGE step. Father O’Malley even held back some of his fat jokes about Charlie Weis, and how he is the most disgusting, fat blob to ever waddle this earth. I truly think Father O is entering a new chapter in his life…

Week 11 Picks

Game 1

Florida State vs. Wake Forrest (12:00 PM Kickoff), Winston Salem, NC

Father O says: This game is going to be the battle for the St. Petersburg Bowl, seriously. If Florida State loses on Saturday they go to 4-6. FSU just so happens to play Florida on the 28th; which they will lose, unless Tim Tebow leaves the team and enters the seminary…bringing the Criminoles to 4-7. Losing to both Wake Forest and Florida will eliminate FSU from going bowling for the first time since 1978. Good job Bobby boy! Now let’s pick apart Wake Forest. If they lose on Saturday, they go to 4-7 and therefore taking themselves out of any bowl games. Let’s be serious for a moment… Both teams SUCK. Florida State is starting a freshman quarterback on Saturday because Ponder is done for the season. Wake Forest is a team of chokers, all of them. They are the only team that can look like national champs in the 1^st half, and look like a D-3 team in the 2^nd half. Florida State will lose to Wake on Saturday, and they will lose to Florida the flowing week. Because Wake wins this week, they will hopefully beat Duke the following week; they will win a trip to lovely St. Petersburg, Florida and play their bowl game in warehouse… Wake wins 21-13.

Game 2

Georgia Tech vs. Duke (12:00 PM Kickoff), Durham, NC

Father O says: If Georgia Tech doesn’t win by 35 points, they should just give it up… Duke has a whopping 5-4 record right now, but with wins over Virginia, Army and North Carolina Central, you cant get too freaking excited. Georgia Tech wins big, 56-10.

Game 3

Iowa vs. Ohio State (3:30 PM Kickoff), Columbus, OH

Father O says: Now this is a game! Two teams fighting to win the conference in mid-November, now that’s college football! Even though it’s the Big Ten and as everyone knows, the Big Ten sucks, this is going to be a interesting game. With the game being at Ohio State and Iowa without their QB who had a horse-shoe stuck up his ass for the first 9 weeks, I don’t see how Iowa can pull away with a win. Ohio State wins on Saturday and Buckeye nation can start getting their tickets for Pasadena! Ohio State wins, 28-17.

Game 4

Utah vs. TCU (7:30 PM Kickoff), Fort Worth, TX

Father O says: TCU has got to be feeling pretty good after there big win last week at BYU and sitting at #4 in the country. Utah, which has only lost 1 game since Nov. 24^th of 2007, has also got to feel pretty damn good about themselves. This game is going to be a knock-down, drag-out fight to the bloody end! Both teams are good, and rightfully deserve more credit than they are given. This game is tough to pick, because both teams are so damn good. But I have to go with the “under-dog” in this one if you can really call them the under-dog. Utah 18-17.

Game 5

Notre Dame vs. Pittsburgh (8:00 PM Kickoff), Pittsburgh, PA

Father O says: At this point, I really don’t care anymore! Our chances of making it to a big bowl game are shot, we lost to a bunch of Seamen, and now we have to play Pittsburgh at home. Maybe Jerome Bettis can help us out and put on the Gold helmet for good times sake, or at least take a wiz in Pitts water cooler? If not, its going to be the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, or the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl… The Bus wizzes in the water, ND wins 24-18.
